Palm Mar can be found in the South of Tenerife just a few minutes drive from the tourist areas of Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas. Palm Mar is a residential area and not designed as a holiday resort. You find many ex pats of all nationalities live here in Palm Mar and the population is increased further in the winter months with the arrival of owners of property that have bought to escape the winter cold in their own countries. Palm Mar in its present form is a relatively new development although there has been a community living here for many years. As you drive into Palm Mar you will pass beneath a miniature version of the Arch to the entrance of Marbella on the Costa Del Sol which is designed to give Palm Mar an image of luxury and exclusivity.
Palm Mar is gradually growing with the opening of new businesses. The commercial centre is completed now and several of the units are in the process of being fitted out into shops and restaurants. Eventually Palm Mar will be self sufficient and will have all the shops and supermarkets required for the basic needs of a small town.
Apart from Banks, Supermarkets, Restaurants and Bars Palm Mar does of course have a very nice sea front promenade with seating areas and small pools with tropical fish in them. The promenade stretches all the way along the front of Palm Mar and at one end has a small children’s playground. The beach itself is not a golden sand beach it is mainly pebbles and rocks and is a natural sea front. However where some of the rocks have been cleared there appears to be more black sand forming creating a pleasant area for swimming and sun bathing. Taking a walk along the sea front you will find quite a number of fishermen it does seem popular with the local population for fishing. From the promenade you can see Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas and also just out to sea the commercial fish farming where you can occasionally see the Dolphins gathering.
We still have a number of developments planned in Palm Mar and properties are still available Off Plan but we also have developments that are in the final stages of completion so hopefully we will see more residents living in Palm Mar.
